Recession and the First Quarter 2008 - Avoiding Advisers Who Push Risky Products
Welcome to Brian Preston's “Money Guy” blog and podcast! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our free RSS feed or email newsletter. Thanks for visiting!

I'm short on notes today, but heavy on great information in the audio of the show. I first provide my detailed perspective on the performance of the market in the first quarter of 2008. I then talk at length about staying focused on why you invested in the financial markets in the first place.
If you need a shot of "Good News and Financial Hope", download the bullish Monday Morning Outlook from Brian S. Wesbury, Chief Economist at First Trust Portfolios.
I close out the show with my personal thoughts on avoiding schemes that have you risk your financial future by leveraging your house and other assets. These advisers are not looking out for you -- they're trying to fill-up their wallets with your money.
Thanks for the great comments and feedback. You guys have been the foundation that has allowed us to grow. If you notice that the show sounds like the volume peaks and distorts a bit today, please bear with my adjustments. I've had a few complaints about the show volume and I was working with the output volume. I think I've got it figured out so you should see an improvement in upcoming shows.
Lastly, please drop by Apple's iTunes website if you have positive feedback to share with the world. The show's prominent listing in the iTunes directory is a direct result of more than a hundred listeners like you sharing how much they enjoy my efforts. If I can do a better job, drop me a personal email at brian@moneyguy.net. See you next Monday ![]()

Brian, you have become a local Hero of mine! I appreciate your show and the easy way you cover things dealing with financial matters. I would like to put a link to your web page and podcast on my web page with your permission... (www.themartinbiz.com [go to the Profits Quarterly page] )
You always have good tips and information worth hearing and using... that is the main part.... usable information! Thanks a million.
Not to mention the fact that you have a cool name..... «Brian»! You have it all. I feel as though I can trust you and you talk straight from your heart, «your educated heart».
Keep up the great work. I also am interested in hearting you findings on the fairtax. (from an earlier show you had). I, at one time, was the district director for the fair tax group here in GA...(congressional district 04) Long Story....
Nice talking to you and Much Love To You!

Thanks for the kind feedback
Given your enthusiasm, you can best help the show by subscribing to the Apple iTunes feed and then offering what we'd hope would be 5-star feedback. More than anything, this helps us get the word out to new listeners.
Suggestions and ideas for improvement should be emailed to me directly. I read all my email and act on most constructive feedback.
